Description

1st annual Mustang 5K!  Come celebrate the beauty of Manitou Springs!  Race starts and ends in Fields park.  Run along the rolling creek, view the art along the creekwalk, loop the beautiful parks full of murals, disc golf, skateparks and more.  The path is flat and accessible to all.  Run/walk.  Bring your family, bring your neighbor, bring your friends!  See map attached.  Chip timed by CCR Timing.  T-shirt designed by MSSD14 art students.  All proceeds go to Manitou Springs School District.

Race day details

Parking - There is free parking along El Paso Blvd and a parking lot across Beckers Lane near Mustang field.

Race-day schedule - Bibs available for pick up starting at 7am in Fields Park near the starting line.  Race starts at 8am.  There will be one heat.  Awards - Overall top 3 males and top 3 females, and masters (40 and over) top 3 males and top 3 females, no overlap.  Limiting swag to T-shirts and awards to avoid waste.

Course info - Come celebrate the beauty of Manitou Springs!  Race starts and ends in Fields park.  Loop Fields park, head towards the mountains, along Creekwalk to Memorial Park, loop Memorial park, return along Creekwalk towards the bridge where the first race in Manitou was held in 1919, complete a final lap of Fields park to cross the finish line in the middle of the grassy field.  Along this course you will see the rolling creek, view the creative wall mural along the creekwalk, pass the pool and basketball court at the fitness center, loop the large train model, get a peak at another wall mural along the park, view the Manizoo concrete structure, run fields park around the disc golf course, tennis courts, pickle ball and skateparks.  Many additional statues and pieces of art to spot along the way, see some pictures below.  The path is flat and accessible to all.  Run/walk.  Bring your family, bring your neighbor, bring your friends!  See map attached.

Toilets - There is a restroom in Fields park and latrines at the half way point near Memorial park.

Volunteers - This entire event is put on by MSSD14 students, staff, parents, with all proceeds going to the school.  Snack, drink, music and lively environment at the end of the race!  Come and enjoy!
