Description
NEW venue and format in 2025! Increasing traffic and other events at the university forced us to look at other options. It's too early in May for a swim so we are changing from a triathlon to a duathlon at Lake Pueblo State Park - Kestrel Pond area (formerly called Rock Canyon Swim Beach)
Mini Mortals Triathlon (MMT) is a youth duathlon following the Ordinary Mortals race and distances are based on the age of participant on 12/31 of this year. For example an 8-year old child turning 9 at any point during the calendar year will compete in the 9-11 year age group and distance (USAT rules, not our rules):
- 5-8 years: 0.6 mile run, 1.8 mile bike, 0.6 mile run. One parent may escort on course.
- 9-11 years: 1.2 mile run, 4 mile bike, 0.6 mile run
- 12-15 years: 1.8 mile run, 6 mile bike, 1.2 mile run
This event often attracts several families of two or three generations racing together the same day! Email us if a parent or grandparent will be racing in Ordinary Mortals to get a discount code for OMD if they bring a kiddo to Mini Mortals. Check out the adult duathlon - the Ordinary Mortals Duathlon for parents and grandparents!
