Race Information

The race begins at 8 a.m. at the base of Gondola One in Vail Village, testing runners of all abilities on both single-track and double-track terrain over 3.4 miles of uphill running with an average grade of 14 percent. The race ends at Eagle's Nest at the top of Vail Mountain. There will be one aid station on-course at Mile Marker 1.6, complete with water, Gatorade, and some snack items. The Eagle Bahn Gondola in Lionshead, which accesses Eagle's Nest, is open for spectators to ride to the top for FREE from 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. Failure to load the gondola by 8:30am will make it so you will not be able to access Eagle's Nest without paying a daily scenic ride ticket for $28. Dogs or other pets are not permitted to load the Gondola. Post-race, the gondola will be free for racers & spectators to download to Lionshead Village.

Please note the new start location for this event in Vail Village. Spectators should plan accordingly if they wish to watch both the race start and finish, as the Eagle Bahn Gondola is a 20 minute walk or a 10 minute bus ride to LionsHead Village from the race start in Vail Village.

Parking

Racers should park in the LionsHead or Vail Village parking structures, where parking is free for the summer.
