OUR CAUSE
St. Vincent’s Medical Center's Swim Across the Sound will be celebrating its 35th year in 2022. This event and the dollars raised through the generosity of swimmers, boaters, and donors has been a safety net for many cancer patients who have nowhere else to turn.
Very often a diagnosis of cancer can be financially devastating. It may cause loss of work, leaving patients and families hard pressed to find the means to afford necessities like food, utilities, rent or mortgage. Also, many patients are underinsured and have difficulty affording much needed medicines, a wig, a prosthesis, or early-detection screening. In all these instances, St. Vincent’s is there to offer financial assistance.
Your support of Swim Across the Sound also enables us to offer 30 vital cancer prevention, education, screening, survivorship and support programs and services. Most programs are free and some are provided at low or no cost for those who are uninsured and underinsured.
This virtual option is here for you if you want to get involved, but aren't able to swim or boat in the Sound. We need your support and want you to have fun along the way as you challenge yourself to move more!
On behalf of the thousands of lives you’ve touched, thank you for your kind support.
