We have just received notice that due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in Connecticut, Governor Lamont/State of CT will be announcing on Monday the restriction of ALL road races. Therefore, the Bethel Turkey Trot as an in person/live event will not be happening on Thanksgiving morning. While we had already received approval from the Department of Health in the Town of Bethel based on our very stringent protocols/precautions that were being implemented for the event, the state has decided otherwise and we respect their decision.
As a result, the event has now changed to a virtual one. Your entry has been automatically converted to a virtual one and runners now have a couple of choices (see below). While this may not be an ideal option for some of you, we of course would have loved to see you run in person as well, but would still like you to get out and run on Thanksgiving or any other day over the holiday weekend! We will be still be doing packet pickup (see below) as T-Shirts had already been ordered as well as other great swag for the race bags. In addition, donations will still be made to Ability Beyond and Bethel Parks and Rec. They both give a great deal back to the community and are grateful for your support!
1. Stay in the event and follow the instructions below for virtual results submission. Pick up your race packet at the Athlete's Source in Bethel on either Wednesday 11/25 from 12-6 pm or Friday 11/27 from 12-6 pm. The first 100 registrants received t-shirts, but we did order some for volunteers so will have about 30-40 extra shirts. Those will be first come/first serve. If you are not local to the area, we can mail your shirts**, but you must request by Wednesday 11/24 evening at Noon. **Those who defer or request a refund will not receive their shirts for this year.
***2. Defer your entry to 2021 by following the instructions at this link. If you have any problems, please email the race director at email@example.com.
***3. Request a 50% refund of your entry fees (minus fees paid to RunSignup) by emailing the race director at firstname.lastname@example.org.
***All Requests for deferrals/refunds must be made by Wednesday 11/24 at Noon otherwise they will be considered as a participant in the virtual event.
THANK YOU again all for your support of the Bethel Turkey Trot. We will definitely be back and ready in 2021!
Packet Pickup will be available on Wednesday, November 25 and Friday, November 27 from 12-6 pm at The Athlete's Source, 83 Stony Hill Rd. #105, Bethel, CT.
