Description
We will never forget those who lost their lives as a result of 9/11, and will continue to honor them and the first responders who put their lives in harm’s way to protect us every day.
On September 11, 2023, HAI Group employees, who are committed to making an impact in our community, will climb 104 stories (via stair climber) or walk 3.1 miles (outdoors or via treadmill). The 104 stories represent the trek made by the first responders who were at the World Trade Center on 9/11. 3.1 miles is the same distance that Sergeant Stephen Siller walked from FDNY Engine 202/Ladder 101 to the Towers, through the Brooklyn-Battery Tunnel. The Tunnel to Towers Foundation was founded to honor Sergeant Siller, who died on 9/11, along with six members of his crew.
All proceeds from this event will go to Tunnel to Towers, which benefits the families of first responders, Gold Star families, and catastrophically injured veterans.
The foundation recently paid off the mortgage of Bristol Police Lieutenant Dustin Demonte, who was killed in the line of duty in October 2022.
