Description
Do you love cats and dogs? But do you also hate thinking that cats and dogs in shelters may not be getting enough food and support? Then come to the Ethel Peters Recreation Complex in Clinton, CT on Sunday July 30th and run a mile to benefit the CT Cat Connection, Protectors of Animals, Monkey’s Pack, and Old Wethersfield Stray & Kitten Rescue.
There will be no entry fee to participate. HOWEVER, you will only be allowed to run if you bring a donation on-site at the race. Please see the following list of items each shelter has on their wishlist:
CT Cat Connection
- Friskies wet cat food is preferred, but any brand of wet cat food is accepted
- Purina Cat Chow or Purina One is preferred, but any brand of dry cat food is accepted
- Cash donations.- this helps the shelter with other expenses such as surgical bills, vet appointments, cleaning supplies, and overhead costs
Protector of Animals
- Canned Food: Blue Buffalo, Natural Balance, Taste of the Wild, or Wellness
- Dry Food: Nature's Recipe Chicken Meal and Rice Small Bites, Wellness CORE Grain-Free Puppy (Chicken and Turkey), Purina Pro Plan Focus Adult Small Breed Formula, or Purina Pro Plan Savor Adult Shredded Chicken and Rice
- Gift Cards to grocery stores, pet stores, or Walmart.
- Cash donations - this helps the shelter with other expenses such as vet appointments, cleaning supplies, and overhead costs
Monkey’s Pack and Old Wethersfield Stray & Kitten Rescue do not have specific lists.
WHEN: July 30th, with waves at 8:30am, 9:00am, and 9:30am. No on-site registration. Online registration open through July 28th at 12:00PM.
COST: Free with on-site donation as stated above (you can also donate monetarily additional ahead of time at registration if you desire, but will still require a donation on-site at the race)
***Note - there may or may not be restroom facilities on site depending on if the town already has a portolet. Please plan accordingly
WAIVER: I know that running a road race is potentially hazardous activity, which could cause injury or death. I will not enter and participate unless I am medically able and properly trained, and by my signature, I certify that I am medically able to perform this event, and am in good health, and I am properly trained. I agree to abide by any decision of a race official relative to any aspect of my participation in this event, including the right of any official to deny or suspend my participation for any reason whatsoever. I attest that I have read the rules of the race and agree to abide by them. I assume all risks associated with running in this event, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other participants, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road and sidewalks, and all such risks being known and appreciated by me. I understand that bicycles, skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, and animals are not allowed in the race and I will abide by all race rules. Personal music players are allowed at the runner’s own risk. Having read this waiver and knowing these facts and in consideration of your accepting my entry, I, for myself and anyone entitled to act on my behalf, waive and release the race director, CT Cat Connection, Protectors of Animals, the town of Clinton, all event sponsors, their representatives and successors from all claims or liabilities of any kind arising out of my participation in this event, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons named in this waiver. I grant permission to all of the foregoing to use my photographs, motion pictures, recordings or any other record of this event for any legitimate purpose.
