A Rather Nice Day for a 10k

Are you a "Tigger" or an "Eeyore"? A "Pooh" or a "Piglet"? Let's be honest, sometimes we're all a little Rabbit. Regardless of which character (or all of them) you love most, we can all agree that A.A. Milne's classic stories of Winnie the Pooh speak to our souls in so many ways.

Fanthropy Running Club is bouncing with joy to announce our second virtual running event of 2024:

A Rather Nice Day for a 10k!

A.A. Milne's classic stories of young Christopher Robin and his stuffed friends in the Hundred Acre Wood have been foundational for so many children for nearly a century.  In 2022, Milne's Winnie-The-Pooh entered the public domain and we are thrilled to offer this incredible medal featuring many of those beloved characters.  Two characters, in particular, have significant meaning for many of us.  Because some days you're a "Tigger" bouncing all over the place...and sometimes you're an "Eeyore"...and just want to take a nap.  This one-of-a-kind medal features an internal rotating disk that you can rotate to determine the kind of day/race you're having!  So whether you want a bouncing 10k...or a sleeping one...this medal is for you!  

This is a virtual event so you can complete the distance any where and any WAY you want!  Do you need to break it up to make it more manageable?  No problem!  Want to walk?  Groovy.  Want to cha-cha slide 6.2 miles?  That's impressive!  We operate on the honor system, so everyone who registers will get this awesome 3" medal and no proof of completion is required!  

The medals have been ordered and will arrive in early August. We'll mail them out as soon as we get them.  That said, if you move or need to change your address between your registration and August 1st, please email brian@rantue.org to update your mailing address.  

There's also a shirt!  (Of course, there's a shirt)  Featuring best friends Pooh and Piglet on the front and Tigger on the back, this shirt is a available as an optional separate purchase from Custom Ink.  The campaign will be open until July 22nd and then all of the shirts will be shipped to you directly from Custom Ink arriving around August 7th.  So, this means that your medals and shirts will arrive separately...but at roughly the same time!

The proceeds from this event will benefit all of the charity beneficiaries selected by the Fanthropy Running Club community for the Fanthropy Rumble Round 2 and the Battle of the Fandoms Round 2 events in the second quarter of the year.  So ALL of the charities the community selects will share the proceeds of this event equally!

Finally, registrations for this event (and shirts too!) count for points for Fanthropy's Camp WannaHelpaLotta!  Make sure you select your cabin when you register so your cabin gets credit.  If you join a cabin after you register, simply email us and we'll update things for you.  If you haven't signed up for Camp WannaHelpaLotta and a summer filled with fun, fitness and philanthropy, check it out in the FRC Fan Domain on Facebook!
