Fanthropy Running Club is thrilled to announce our first new virtual running event since 2022!
It All Started With a 5k!
On January 1st, everyone started their 2024 fitness journey....and that journey can often start with completion of a 5k. Also on January 1st, the first appearance of everyone's favorite mouse who started a media and cultural empire, Steamboat Willie, entered the Public Domain! We are super excited to celebrate one of the greatest cartoons of all-time with this Steamboat Willie-inspired virtual event with a medal featuring the four main characters from that cartoon...especially the sheet-music-devouring GOAT! So, let's put them together and start a new year off right!
This is a virtual event so you can complete the distance any where and any WAY you want! Do you need to break it up to make it more manageable? No problem! Want to walk? Groovy. Want to cha-cha slide 3.1 miles? That's impressive! We operate on the honor system, so everyone who registers will get this awesome 3" medal and no proof of completion is required!
Due to Lunar New Year, the medals won't arrive until late March, but we'll mail them out as soon as we get them. That said, if you move or need to change your address between your registration and March 30th, please email brian@rantue.org to update your mailing address.
There's also a shirt! (Of course, there's a shirt) Featuring the awesome goat from the film, this shirt is a available as an optional separate purchase from Custom Ink. The campaign will be open for 30 days and then all of the shirts will be shipped to you directly from Custom Ink. So, this means that you will have your shirt before you get your medal.
The proceeds from this event will benefit all of the charity beneficiaries selected by the Fanthropy Running Club community for the Fanthropy Rumble Round 1 and the Battle of the Fandoms Round 1 events in the first three months of the year. So ALL of the charities the community selects will share the proceeds of this event equally!

The Awesome Medal!
This amazing 3" medal is dyed-black metal on a dye-sublimated satin-finish ribbon with velcro attachments so you can hang it on different types of medal racks. Everyone who registers for the event will get this awesome medal to celebrate your accomplishment. Medals will be mailed at the end of March. More information will be available in the FRC Fan Domain on Facebook once we get the medals.
The Awesome Shirt!
In the world of shirts, this one is the GOAT! And the only thing he loves to eat more than sheet music is his running bib!! Rocking his awesome medal and his Fanthropy shirt, he's obviously completed his 5k. These shirts are produced by Custom Ink and it is an optional additional purchase (it's not included in your registration). Given the timing of the medals, it's likely that you will receive your Custom Ink shirt(s) a couple of weeks before you get your medal.
