Join us at the scenic Walnut Beach in Milford for the 8th edition of our event. Our flat course has been a huge success and is designed for all abilities of runners and walkers! It is a great route for a fast run, an easy run, any walk pace you want and even good for pushing a baby stroller. (Note: A baby is Not included in entry fee so please bring your own!)
The start and finish near the Walnut Beach pavilion is located about 70 yards from the beach. Take a dip after you are done, or enjoy a nice cool down along the water. The Silver Sands boardwalk is just a two minute walk down the beach as well. There’s no shortage of beauty and scenery here!
Pre register (by Sept 30) to guarantee your shirt size. After that date shirts may be on hand but there is no guarantee of size availability. Light food will be on hand when you return from your run or walk. Entertainment before and after - along with wonderful cultural items that will be for sale.
This year’s project is in the town of Fort Portal, Uganda – an area that has been suffering greatly because of severe drought conditions. The project will provide desperately needed water to a secondary school of 250 pupils headed by our trusted friend, Fr. Emmanuel Byaruhanga, and a primary school of 2,000 students, many of whom are physically challenged. As of now there is no water available for drinking, cooking or washing. The schools will begin the new semester in August and the need for clean water in this area is urgent!
Depending upon the amount raised this year, we want to also include the Iganga Babies Home, a wonderful orphanage that we visit each year.
As always your contributions are fully tax deductible. We are approved by the Internal Revenue Service as a 501 (c) (3)organization
This year we are offering three events that we think will appeal to everyone. All abilities are encouraged to join in the fun.
Our 5K Run (or you can walk the 3.11miles) is a computer timed event. Participants will need to complete the entire 3.11 mile course to be scored in results. This event offers awards to the overall male and female champions as well as age group awards.
Our NEW One mile (approx) WALK ONLY is an untimed event. Enjoy the scenic beauty of Walnut Beach and Silver Sands Park while walking at any pace from a stroll to a power walk! There are NO Awards for this non-competitive event.
Our kids fun run is FREE for 12 years of age and under only. A 1/10 mile course will be offered (parents can accompany if needed).
This race is directed by Marty Schaivone – M.S. Running Productions. MSRP helps to direct over 40 other events in which last year raised over $250,000 for charities including Aquarion Barnum Festival 5K/10K in Bridgeport, Black Rock "Run for the Rock", Milford Bank Moves for Veterans, MADD Dash in Stratford, Colony Grill Hot Oil 5K in Fairfield, Stratford Turkey Trot, Cow Chip Cross Country Run & Jingle Bell Run in Trumbull, and over 35 other events in Fairfield County.

Our 5K course is accurately measured and approved by the Milford Police. It will allow friends and family to see the participants at the start, after 5/10mi, and at the finish. Please remember that roads are open to traffic- we cannot shut them down. Running with head/earphones is not recommended. We want you safe and able to hear any warnings /vehicles / and all the cheering ! There will be one water stop on the 5k course at the turnaround ‘green’.
Roads are marked with flour arrows, turning signs and traffic cones. Volunteers are on course but cannot stop traffic. Please run to the right on all roads and give room to oncoming Runners.
