Greenleaf 5K River Run for the Fund

Join us for our 25th Anniversary 5K River Run for the Fund on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at 9am. One of southeastern Connecticut's most scenic and meaningful 5K races! Whether you're chasing a personal best, enjoying a leisurely walk, or looking for a fun morning with family and friends, this event offers something for everyone.

The professionally certified 5K course winds along the beautiful Ocean Beach shoreline, featuring flat pavement and breathtaking views of Long Island Sound, making it ideal for both competitive runners and casual participants.

More than just a race, every registration, donation and sponsorship helps support the James A. Greenleaf, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund, which provides full scholarships and financial assistance to students attending Saint Bernard School and scholarships for graduating seniors pursuing higher education. Your participation directly invests in the future of local students while honoring the legacy of James A. Greenleaf, Jr.

Participants will enjoy:

Registration opens at 7:30 a.m., with the race beginning promptly at 9:00 a.m.

Businesses, organizations and individuals are invited to become race sponsors, with sponsorship opportunities ranging from $100 to $2,500. Each offering valuable recognition on race apparel and promotional materials. We also gratefully welcome donations of raffle or silent auction items from anyone who would like to support the scholarship fund in lieu of sponsorship. Every contribution helps!
