Miracle Mile (1-miler)

I’m raising money to run the 127th Boston Marathon this April! My charity team is the Michael’s Miracle Marathon Team, which raises money for the amazing Michael Lisnow Respite Center in Hopkinton, MA. In an effort to help reach my fundraising goals and get me to the start line in April, I have put together this 1-mile track run in Seymour, which will be hand-timed; results to be uploaded in RunSignUp and posted on FB. Hope you’ll come out to run for a great cause. Training for a big run?! Think of it as a 1-mile "sprint"!

About the Michael Lisnow Respite Center
The Michael Lisnow Respite Center is a non-profit organization that provides daycare, after-school care, and weekend respite services to children and adults with all ranges of disabilities. As the founder explained it, “If you have a child with severe disabilities, there are no breaks.” In this population, there is an 87% divorce rate because the care for children with severe disabilities is so incredibly intense. The demands on families are unimaginable. The strain of the day in, day out care leaves little, if any, room for parents. So, I am raising money for families who cannot afford to pay for the quality care their child receives at the center. 

The Respite Center’s main funding for the year is derived from the Boston Marathon charity program and all donations that the Center receives go directly to families who cannot afford care.

About the Run
There will be 2 start times, 9:00 and 9:30. The run will be hand-timed and results will be updated in RunSignUp and posted on FB.
There will be no water or food and there may not be any bathroom facilities onsite. Please be sure to plan accordingly.
