Description

30 hours and 100 miles or more !
Welcome to the gateway of New England running! The initial running of the 2018, Connecticut's only 30 Hour / 100 mile race, will take place on Saturday, June 30TH with a start time of 8:30 AM and run to July 1ST ending at 2:30 PM or 30 Hours. Run, jog, hike, walk or crawl; go as long as you wish: 25, 50, 75, 100 miles or more, it's up to you. Great way to test yourself for a fall ultra 100, too. There will be a packet pickup between 3 PM and 6 PM, at the forest pavilion, the Friday before (29TH); at this time or early on Saturday Morning (30TH) you can choose a place store gear to be used during the race and for a "rest and refreshment station" in an adjacent field to use for your for 30 hour endeavor, (NO overnight camping allowed per Town Ordinance) . Access to your vehicle will also be nearby, as you loop, through the day and night.
There will be an award for first to fifth overall with the most amount of miles in the 30 hours allocated for running. A buckle (design pending) will be given to all those achieving 100 miles in the 30 hours, but that does not win the race; it is most miles achieved in 30 hours. Pacers are not allowed, the endurance is on you. The course is a slightly rolling roots and rocky terrain that is very runnable, but will become monotonous, as time goes by. The average miles by winners of the 9 hour race is 51 miles in 9 hours. A buckle would look great this 4th of July, but you gotta be bold. Are you in?
