We are urging our runners and spectators to dress warmly, in layers of clothing. We urge every one to prepare for the cold weather and winds we are expecting. We will be working hard to hold a safe and enjoyable race.
To help you stay warm the following locations near the race start/finish will be open-
The Stratford Theatre, Maxwell’s Restaurant, the Daugherty Insurance Office (behind the theatre building). WE HAVE ADDED the Shriners building next to the theatre.
Remember to wear layers but make sure your bib is visible on the outside.
We WILL NOT HAVE a water table- water on the road will freeze and present a dangerous situation. Bring your own fluids to be safe.
Awards will be available inside the theatre as soon as results are verified. There will not be an official ceremony.
We hope that common sense will prevail- which may include staying home, enjoying warm fluids, and running in place if necessary!
The Stratford Turkey Day Trot has become one of the largest of its kind in the area. From its humble start 17 years ago with under 100 people in Stratford Center our event has grown each year to now over 1000 people.
Our event is successful because of the tremendous support and cooperation of the Stratford Police, EMS, Public Works & Fire Departments.
Late reg is available Tues & Weds during pickup hours (below) at CRUNCH FITNESS - but pricing increases to $40 (19+) & $30 (18 & Under)
BY THEN WE MAY NOT HAVE SHIRTS OR YOUR SIZE. So don’t wait!
ONLINE PRE REG CLOSES MONDAY 11/19 at 8pm sharp
The very flat and fast course has attracted runners and walkers from the four corners of CT, New England & beyond. OUR 5K COURSE IS VERY FRIENDLY- suitable for all abilities.
Our family friendly run/walk takes place on a course that starts in the heart of our downtown center. You’ll run down E. Broadway and take a right on Elm St. From there you’ll run thru the historic section of town with a straight shot, out and back on Elm St, You’ll do a quick turn around and go past the water table on your way back to the finish. Before you get back downtown you'll run a loop around the historically famous Shakespeare Theatre right near the Housatonic River.
We use computer bib-chip timing for fast & accurate results.
You must wear your own registered bib.
PLEASE MAKE SURE YOUR BIB IS PINNED ON FRONT - NOT COVERED BY CLOTHING & not folded over.
Using another bib or exchange of bibs is illegal, affects the total race results, and delays emergency services.
You’ll get a great long sleeve T-shirt (guaranteed sizing only if you pre register by Friday November 16- after that ‘as available’)
Snacks & fluids after your finish - but don’t fill up! You’ve got a dinner later in the day.
MAXWELL’S RESTAURANT- at the finish line - will be open for adult hydration beverages, softer fluids, and a warm place to recover!
