RACE STATUS & COVID PROTOCOLS
As we prepare for our 32nd run, our plan is for a normal 5K in-person event complete with post race food, beverages and awards; however, we realize this may not be possible and must be ready to pivot. This could include modifications to ensure a safe event (i.e. staggered start, sealed water & pre wrap snacks, reduced/fast awards- no big ceremony, masks on prior to start & after finish, etc) or following whatever COVID restrictions as determined by the state. Worst case - we could be required to go 100% virtual - like last-year. Just BE READY & patient as we make our way through 2021.
We will keep this site updated and let all pre-registered know what’s going on. If we are forced to go virtual please understand we can’t refund your registration. We pay non refundable deposits on some items and buy food and fluids, shirts, bibs, pins, etc., in advance. If you are uncertain about your participation in the race, please delay your registration. We appreciate your understanding and flexibility ... Yes costumes/festive attire are still encouraged!
Join us Saturday, Dec 4th as the Nichols Improvement Association presents the 32nd edition of our holiday classic. The JBR takes place on a scenic rolling hill 5K course through the heart of the Nichols community. Walkers are welcomed to participate as well. PLEASE Come Dressed to Run - There are no indoor changing facilities.
For those that want to avoid the crowds, you can participate virtually or as we call it a "DIY-JBR" which allows the spirit of this community event to live throughout the month of December. Participants will have from 12/4 - 12/24 to complete their run. You can run the Official JBR course where we plan to have event signage along the course on Saturday's & Sundays. Neighbors along the route will also be encouraged to show their support for the runners from the safety of their homes as well. If you prefer to run a different 5K course - that's totally cool. Upon completion you will be able to upload your times into our results database.

All participants registered prior to Friday Nov 19th will receive a commemorative shirt, race bib.
Shirts & Bibs for registrations received after Nov 19th will be available while supplies last.
SHIRT UPDATE 11/29 - We still have plenty of shirts available in all sizes.
The Nichols Improvement Association is a Not For Profit organization. Proceeds from the race go back into supporting numerous community events, maintaining our property, ball fields, community playground & the Starkweather House.

9:30am - 5K starts
Runners with Strollers & Dogs would go towards back of the pack please.
