Fleet Feet Westport 2nd Anniversa-RUN 5k

WE'RE TURNING 2 !!

In celebration of our second birthday, we are kicking off a week of fun promotions with a 5k run in beautiful downtown Westport on Sunday, February 28 at 9am (rain/snow date of March 6th). 100% of the proceeds from the run will be donated to the CT Food Bank

Even though we can't have a formal race like we planned, this will be a smaller - yet still fun - timed run that will start and stop from the store. We are offering two run options:

• Timed In-Person 5k - Sunday February 28th at 9am - Limited to 50 runners (RAIN/SNOW date is Sunday, March 7th)
  • Bib and goodie bag pickup strongly encouraged during the week before - starting Sunday, February 21
  • IMPORTANT: Although a timed run, there will not be separate paths for runners versus cars, or traffic stoppages. We strongly encourage you to run on sidewalks. If this is not possible, please run against traffic whenever possible and be aware of your surroundings at all times. Always obey pedestrian laws regarding street crossings.
• Untimed Virtual 5k - Anytime between Sunday, February 21 and Friday, February 27th. You'll run the same route, but will need to run on any of the 6 days preceding our February 28th event.

Your entire donation of $20 for either run goes towards the CT Food Bank, which will help struggling families with hunger and food insecurity in the local area and across the state of CT. Additional donation welcome, but not required. 

All in-person runners will receive a goodie bag compliments of Fleet Feet Westport!

COVID INFORMATION - PLEASE READ:

• Face coverings (mask or gaiter) must be worn at all times before, during and after the run outdoors when social distancing cannot be maintained
• Strict limit to 12 people inside the store at any time - bathroom, changing room and last minute purchases are allowed if the store's capacity isn't exceeded. Face coverings are mandatory inside of the store at all times. Capacity will be monitored by Fleet Feet Westport staff at all times.
• If you are seen without a face covering at any time, even outdoors if you're not social distancing, you will not be allowed to run and you will forfeit your registration.
• The course will be posted inside the store a week before the event, and can be found here: https://www.strava.com/routes/2792036951092448278
• There are no water or nutrition stops on the course
• 10 people per wave will be socially-distanced and staged at the start/finish line, starting promptly at 9am. Face coverings are required in the start/finish area but can be removed while running the course if social distancing is possible.
• As soon as you finish, we ask that you maintain social distancing - even outdoors until your departure.
