My name is Sam and I am a childhood cancer survivor. I have been in remission for over ten years now.

I started with Camp CARE after my treatment. I was struggling going back to high school and fitting in with everyone. My child life specialist suggested that I try Camp CARE. I have been involved since going to Camp in 2016. I finally found people who understood what I had been through. I felt like for the first time I fit in somewhere. No one asked any questions, they understood me and accepted me. 

I have had various jobs throughout the years at Camp CARE. I currently serve as a lifeguard for Camp.

The lake is my favorite part of Camp. Camp has brought me life long friends and everytime I come back I am reminded of the reasons why I keep coming back. I see campers' lives change in a week the way mine was ten years ago. I keep coming back to give campers the experience that I had as a child.
