Cauvery Calling
"Cauvery has been the source of wellbeing, prosperity and the very source of life for these lands. A forest-fed perennial river is fast becoming a seasonal stream as 87% of tree cover has been removed in 50 years. Cauvery is calling, do you have a heart to hear?" – Sadhguru

Introduction
Cauvery Calling was subsequently launched in the fall of 2019 as the second on-ground river revitalization project, as a carefully crafted global economic model with a significant ecological impact. The project focuses on enhancing farmer wealth while simultaneously impacting river flow and riverine ecosystems. It will enable farmers in the Cauvery basin spanning Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, to plant 2.42 billion trees in the Cauvery basin. The project aims to enhance farmer wealth by 300% to 800% in a 5-7 year time span, transforming the lives of 84 million people whose lives depend upon the Cauvery’s water. If implemented successfully, it can be a game-changer, not only for India, but for the whole tropical world.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the United Nations, State Governments, and prominent organizations, celebrities and sports persons including Leonardo Dicaprio and Matthew Hayden, politicians, and businesses have pledged their support for Cauvery Calling. This initiative will become a replicable benchmark for sustainable development that promotes wealth creation along with nurturing the environment, proving that ecology and economy need not work against each other.
The World Health Organization estimates that by 2025 half of the world’s population, nearly 4 billion people, will be living in water-stressed regions. This means, unless we act in global unison to support regions in a water emergency, the crisis will continue to stretch unchecked across the earth.
