FAQ'S
🍀 How did this event get started?
This event began exactly the way many great ideas do—a group of neighbors from Trumbulls Court gathered around Jenn’s kitchen island, enjoying a few drinks before St. Patrick’s Day. Someone joked that we should create a “Boston-style” neighborhood run, loop around the community, and then throw a party back in the court afterward.
And just like that, the idea was born.
For the very first event, we made race shirts and donated all proceeds to Craig’s Yeti Cooler Fund. We proudly made about 25 cents, and the awards were fashioned from yogurt cups (yes—very much like The Office).
The event continued for a few years, growing slowly but keeping its fun, informal spirit. When the Chapman Farm Social Committee began looking for new community events, the neighbors of Trumbulls Court came together to officially bring this race under the Social Committee’s umbrella.
We had joked for years that this little neighborhood run could become something big—and that’s how the Chapman Farm Almost 5K was started.
How far is the Run?
Almost a 5K
How far is the Walk?
A little over a mile.
🚗 Where do we park on Race Day?
If possible, please walk to the event or park outside of the No Parking tape. We need the entire area around the clubhouse to be completely cleared.
As a reminder, roads are not closed on Race Day, but we kindly ask residents to avoid the immediate area for approximately 30 minutes during the race.

Of course! We welcome sponsorships and are excited to offer discounted sponsorship opportunities for Chapman Farm businesses this year. Email caitreid@gmail.com for more information.
Can we have strollers or dogs?
They are perfect for our family friendly walk. We do ask all dogs are leashed.
Strollers are fine for our walk. We ask for no strollers during the run due to the roads not being closed.
