ABOUT THE VIRTUAL EXPERIENCE

 
WHAT IS A VIRTUAL EVENT?

Chicago Spring Half Marathon & 10K Virtual is a Virtual Experience that can be completed anywhere. You may choose the Half Marathon or the 10K and may run or walk at your convenience and at your own pace anytime from May 20 to May 23, 2021. 

WHEN CAN YOU COMPLETE THE VIRTUAL EVENT?

You may complete the Virtual Experience anytime between May 20, 2021 to May 23, 2021. All results must be submitted by May 31, 2021.

IS THERE A SPECIFIC APP I NEED TO USE TO TRACK MY DISTANCES AND TIMES? 

You may track your distances and times with any app, watch, or fitness device that you would like. We will provide more details closer to the event date.

CAN I USE A TREADMILL? 

Yes, you may!

CAN I BREAK UP THE DISTANCE(S)?

While we do encourage athletes to complete each distance (10K or Half Marathon) of their virtual race in one effort, you are certainly able to break up the distance if you prefer or need to in order to comply with guidelines. The results will only allow for one submission, so if you opt to break into multiple runs/walks, you'll need to add your times together to submit at one time.

WHEN WILL I RECEIVE MY RACE BOX?

If you register before May 6th, we will ship your Race Box in early-mid May to ensure your Race Box will arrive prior to the first day of race weekend on May 20th. If you register after May 6th, we will ship your Race Box 1-3 weeks after your registration date.

WHAT WILL I RECEIVE IN MY RACE BOX?

Your Race Box items will be based on which tier you sign up for. The Premium tier was created with the goal of bringing the full race experience to you, wherever you are, so that you're prepped for your run and for your post-run celebratory picnic! The Basic tier includes a shirt, bib, and medal! For a full list of items, please click here.

WILL YOU SHIP FINISHER KITS INTERNATIONALLY?

We highly encourage you to use a U.S. address during registration for your Race Box but we do have International Shipping available. If you choose International Shipping, you will incur a $30 Shipping Fee.

REGISTRATION FAQS

 
I DEFERRED MY 2020 CHICAGO SPRING HALF MARATHON & 10K REGISTRATION. HOW DO I CLAIM MY DEFERRAL?

You will receive a unique code via email on February 24, 2021 that you must use in the coupon code field at checkout to register for the event. 

WHAT IS THE DEFER TO 2022 OPTION?

This option is only for those who deferred their registration from the 2020 event to the 2021 event but do not want to participate virtually. If you have a deferral code, the deferral to 2022 option will be free once you redeem your code at checkout. If you do not use a deferral code to sign up for this option, you will be immediately withdrawn.

CAN ANYONE REGISTER? 

Yes, the 2021 Chicago Spring Half Marathon & 10K Virtual event is open to everyone.

 

ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT FAQS

 

HOW DO I DOWNLOAD MY DIGITAL BIB?

Click here to visit your Profile. From there, you will see "View Digital Bib" on the right panel of your registration for this event. You must be logged into your RSU account to access this. You do not need to wear a bib during your run. Your digital bib will be available to download in May 2021. You will also receive a commemorative bib in your Race Kit.

HOW DO I RESEND MY CONFIRMATION EMAIL?

RunSignUp allows you to access your registration through your Profile. From there you can resend your confirmation email if you have misplaced it, or if you have not received it. 

Note: If you did not receive your confirmation make sure to check your Spam/Clutter folders.

You will always be able to resend the registration confirmation for any registrations associated with your Profile (including any sub-accounts of yours) by following these steps:

  1. Sign In to RunSignUp
  2. Go to your Profile
  3. See your events under Upcoming Events
  4. Click Resend Confirmation next to the registration that you would like to resend the confirmation email.
  5. Check the email listed in your Profile for your registration confirmation

Click Resend Confirmation next to the registration that you would like to resend the registration confirmation.

At that point, the confirmation email will be sent to the email address associated with that registration. If the original confirmation message did not send because you had a typo in an email address, you will need to update this information as explained in How to Correct Typo/Modify Profile.

HOW DO I RESET MY RSU PASSWORD? 

If you ever happen to forget your password, simply open up the “Login”, and click Forgot Password? At this point, you can enter in the email address you use to access your RunSignup account, and click on the button labeled Send Reset Password Link

After clicking the “Reset Password” button, you will receive an email with a unique link allowing you to reset the password for your RunSignUp account.

HOW CAN I UPDATE MY SHIPPING ADDRESS?

RESULT SUBMISSION FAQS

 
HOW DO I SUBMIT MY RESULTS?

Click here to visit your Profile. From there, you will see "Submit Virtual Results" and other options on the right panel of your registration for this event. You must be logged into your RSU account to access this. Miles must be logged within the race time frame (May 20-23, 2021). You may track your distance with a number of different phone apps (Strava, Garmin Connect, etc.), your watch, or your favorite fitness device. We will provide detailed instructions closer to the event date.

DO I NEED TO SUBMIT PROOF OF MY MILES?

Due to the manual nature of submitting your results, we request that you uphold the integrity of our sport and submit only results that are honest and accurate to the best of your ability. You do not have to submit proof when submitting your results but race staff reserves the right to request proof for any result submission.

 

REFERRAL REWARDS FAQS

 
WHAT IS THE REFERRAL PROGRAM?

For every 3 friends who use your referral link to register, you will receive a refund of $15 credited back to you PLUS the top 5 referrers will receive a prize. The maximum refund amount is the amount you paid for your registration fee for the 2021 event. 

WHAT ARE THE RULES?

The referral has to sign up with your unique referral link. We cannot apply a referral link to any accounts after registration. If you used a deferral code to register, you will not qualify for a refund but you will qualify for the top 5 referrers prize.

HOW DO I FIND MY REFERRAL LINK?

After you register, you will receive your unique referral link in your confirmation email as well as on the confirmation page screen. You may also resend your confirmation email through your Profile. You may also view your Referral Links here.
