This year marks the 7th year since our daughter and sister, Ashton, was needlessly killed by a drunk driver on July 28,
2019, just one week before her 16th birthday. Every day since, we have missed her deeply and the joy, compassion,
and kindness she brought into our lives. Following Ashton's passing, our family established Choose Kind Week to
honor her memory during the week between the day she was killed and what would have been her birthday. It is our
way of celebrating the kindness she showed others and encouraging our community to do the same through simple
acts of compassion. As a family, we often participated in 5k events and have so many fond memories from them. We
hope to provide the same opportunity to our community by starting this event.

What began as a small movement has grown into something truly meaningful. Since 2020, we estimate that more
than 1,300 people have been touched through acts of kindness, and the ChooseKindACD Foundation, a
501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has donated more than $35,000 to organizations and causes that were close to
Ashton's heart or reflect the caring spirit she shared with everyone she met.

The ChooseKindACD 5K is much more than a race. It is an opportunity for hundreds of people to come together to
celebrate kindness, remember Ashton, support local charities, and show that one person's life can continue changing
the world through the compassion of others. We hope you'll stand beside us as one of the businesses helping make
