Rainbow Room & First Responders: Community Essential Drive
Rainbow Room Essential Drive – Focus on Teen Needs
As part of our community outreach efforts, Citizens EMS is proud to support the Callahan County Rainbow Room, which provides emergency resources and comfort items for children entering protective care. Rainbow Rooms can only accept new items.
While toys are always appreciated, our Rainbow Room contact shared an important perspective: younger children often receive more donations, but a significant number of youth entering foster care are teens, whose needs are frequently overlooked.
Most Needed – Teen Items
Help us focus on supporting older youth with items that provide comfort, dignity, and a sense of normalcy:
- Hoodies
- Plush blankets
- Journals
- Sketch books
- Colorful pens / gel pens
- Reusable water bottles
- Rope lights / LED lights for room comfort
- Age-appropriate hygiene/self-care items
- Backpacks or duffel bags
- Gift cards
Additional Essential Needs
Needs remain for infants and younger children as well, including:
- Baby food and formula
- Diapers, wipes, diaper rash cream, and lotion
- Hygiene items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste)
- School supplies
- Children’s clothing (all sizes)
- Shoes, socks, and underwear
- Non-perishable snacks and juice
- Car seats and pack-n-plays
Every donation helps provide comfort, stability, and essential care during a difficult transition. Thank you for helping us support the children and teens in our community. 💙
Rainbow Room & First Responders: Community Essential Drive
At Citizens EMS, we’re dedicated to more than just saving lives—we’re committed to showing up for our community in every way possible—especially during life’s most difficult moments.
When families face crisis, children are often left with nothing but the clothes on their backs. Through the Rainbow Room, emergency resource rooms help provide comfort, dignity, and basic essentials during these critical times.
In partnership with the Callahan County Child Welfare Board, we’re proud to host a Rainbow Room & First Responders: Community Essential Drive during our Fun Run and Open House event!
We’ll be collecting new, unused items such as diapers, hygiene products, clothing, school supplies, and comfort items to help restock these vital resources for children and families in need.
💛 Every item donated becomes immediate support
🌈 Every contribution helps bring comfort during crisis
