When and where is Coach Spo’s 5K?
The Third Annual Coach Spo’s 5K takes place on Sunday, December 13, 2026, beginning at 7:30 a.m. The race starts and finishes at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital, 3100 SW 62nd Avenue, Miami, FL.

Can I walk instead of run?
Yes. Coach Spo’s 5K is a run/walk that welcomes experienced runners, casual participants, and Miami HEAT fans alike.

Can I participate with a team?
Absolutely. Invite friends, family, or coworkers to run or walk together. Visit the Create a Team section for more information about getting your group involved.

Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
No. Bib numbers are non-transferable.

Can I get a refund if I can’t participate?
Registration fees are generally nonrefundable. However, if you raise $100 or more as an individual fundraiser, we’ll refund your $40 registration fee as a thank-you for supporting children and families at Nicklaus Children’s Hospital.

RACE DAY

How long is the course?
The course is 5 kilometers, or approximately 3.1 miles. It travels through the Coral Gables and Schenley Park neighborhoods and passes landmarks including the historic Biltmore Hotel.

What can I expect before and after the race?
The morning includes a pre-race warm-up. Coach Spo and other special guests are expected to appear, and Coach Spo is scheduled to share remarks after the race. Event details are subject to change.

What happens if the event is postponed or canceled?
The organizers may postpone or cancel the event because of circumstances beyond their control or when necessary to protect participants and staff. Under the event’s refund policy, registration fees remain nonrefundable.
