Donna's Message
Hello Everyone!
On March 7th, 2024 I’ll be dipping the rear wheels of my bicycle into the Pacific Ocean in San Diego, CA and, with 25 other women as part of Woman Tours Bicycle Tours, will begin pedaling over 3,000 miles. We will ride along a route called, the Southern Tier, all the way to St. Augustine, FL, where our ride will end on May 1st, 2024. The route goes through eight states, encounters a variety of terrain, and rides through small towns and cities. Upon arrival, we’ll dip the front wheel of our bicycles into the Atlantic Ocean.
This will be the realization of a dream I’ve had since I was a teenager – to ride my bicycle cross country. I’ve traveled many miles by pedal power but never undertaken such a long ride, done so as part of an organized group or as a fundraiser. Taking the concept of “Pedaling for Payson” to a whole new level, I will be riding “Coast to Coast for Hope” and using my ride to raise money for the Hope Resource Center at Concord Hospital’s Payson Center for Cancer Care. As so many others have, I too have benefited from the valuable services and assistance that are easily accessible to cancer patients, caregivers, and family members at the Concord Hospital Payson Center for Cancer Care. They make the cancer journey just a bit less daunting.
As I pedal 3,100 miles “Coast to Coast for Hope," I hope in some small way to give back. To support my efforts, I will be posting updates on my trip so be sure to check back here on this site and on social media.
