- Where does it take place?
The start and finish line will be at Gilbert Lindsay Plaza at the Los Angeles Convention Center. - What time does the Extra Yard 5K start?
The walk/run will start at 8 AM on Sunday, January 8. - How long will the start line be open?
The start line will be open for 10 minutes after the last participant crosses the start at 8:00 AM. After that you will not be allowed to officially start and complete the race. - Where do I pick up my packet?
Saturday, January 7th at the LA Convention Center - Playoff Fan Central, 10 AM – 5 PM
Sunday, January 8th at Gilbert Lindsay Plaza beginning at 6:30 AM - Is there an Athlete Gear Drop/Check?
We will not be providing an Athlete Gear Drop area. All participants will be responsible for their own gear and the safety of clothes and items during the run. We encourage you to leave all items in your cars in a secure parking garage near the venue. - Where are the water stations?
One water station will be located approximately halfway through the course, as well as the finish line. - Where can I get my results?
Results will be available on the website immediately following the race.
Each participant will also receive and email after the race with their individual results. - Who gets awards?
Prizes for the top male and female finishers will be awarded to on-site participants only. Top 3 male and female age group prizes will be awarded to on-site participants only for the following age groups:
14 and under, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70+

The top male and female overall finishers will receive (2) tickets to the National Championship football game. Male and female age group prizes are as follows: 1st place will receive a football, 2nd place will receive a duffle bag, and 3rd place will receive a hat.

No! Bring the whole family! - Are strollers and/or dogs permitted?
Dogs are not allowed on the course for safety reasons. Strollers are permitted, but must start behind all other runners and walkers for safety reasons. - May walkers participate?
Yes! There is a 17 minute/mile minimum pace on the course. - I have a friend who cannot participate in the event. Can I take his/her place?
Each participant must have his/her own registration. In the event of an emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore, you are NOT allowed to participate using someone else’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy. - Can I get a refund or transfer?
There are no refunds or transfers for the Extra Yard 5K. - Who does the Extra Yard 5K benefit?
The Extra Yard 5K supports the mission of the College Football Playoff Foundation as it seeks to elevate the teaching profession by empowering teachers. Your registration will support this initiative nationwide. To learn more, visit CFP-Foundation.org. - If I am registered for the VIRTUAL Extra Yard 5K, when will I receive my swag?
