Double Triathlon, Duathlon, and Aquabike.
You do not need to qualify for yjr double races, but all athletes should be able to comfortably finish a sprint distance triathlon, duathlon, or Aquabike before registering. You should also be aware there are several cut-off times associated with each event.

DOUBLE TRIATHLON
Double Triathlon will start as the first wave start of the race.
Triathlon #1 – Max time allowed 1:30:00 (total elapsed time 1:30:00)
Race-to-Race Transition #1 – Max time allowed – 00:10:00 (total elapsed time 1:40:00)
Triathlon #2 – Max time allowed - 1:50:00 (total elapsed time 3:30:00)
The race will be scored with an active timing chip you wear on your ankle along with a passive chip that is affixed to the back of your run bib. Race splits will show your time for each segment of the event, and the total time for each event, with the time between races being listed as a “Race-to-Race Transition”. Your total time from start to finish will be used for the race awards.
Yes, you must wear your race bib during each run. Not only is this important for identification purposes, race bibs also have a timing chip affixed to the back which is used to help tabulate your split times. The easiest way to accomplish this is with an elastic race number belt that you can easily wear during the run.
No, for the double triathlon and duathlon, at the end of your first race you pass by the finish line without entering the finish chute. You then continue into the transition area and prepare to start your second race.
The Double Duathlon will start with the Sprint Duathlon. Run #1 of the first duathlon will travel east on the trail and back. Runs 2 & 3 will be the standard 5K course.
Duathlon #1 – Max time allowed 1:50:00 (total elapsed time 1:50:00)
Duathlon #2 – Max time allowed 1:40:00. Must finish within the total elapsed time of 3:30:00
The Double Aquabike is a Swim-Bike-Swim-Bike event. You will complete two back-to-back Sprint Aquabikes, with your total time from start to finish used for awards placement.
The Double Aquabike will start with the Sprint Aquabike wave. There is no cut-off time associated with the Double Aquabike.
Once you finish your first event, you will be directed back into the transition area to prepare for race #2. You will stage all your gear below the bike rack and beside your bike like you would normally do during a traditional event. A hydration and refueling station will also be located in the transition area. Once you are ready, you will start your second event. Please be aware the timing clock runs non-stop from the start of the first race to the end of the second.
