  • What is the address of the race venue?
    • Vandalia Recreation Center - 1111 Stonequarry Rd, Dayton, OH 45414
  • Are there bathrooms onsite?
    • Yes, plenty! The Vandalia Recreation Center is a large sports venue with numerous men's and women's restrooms! We always encourage participants/spectators to use the bathroom before they arrive but there are plenty of options onsite!
  • Is there gear check?
    • No, we do not offer gear check. Parking is widely available right near the start/finish however so you can quickly access your vehicle. Please keep your vehicle locked at all times as a precaution.
  • What's the course like?
    • This USATF certified 5K is a fast one. The race begins inside the sports complex before heading out onto the roads, all the miles are pancake flat and make a large loop such that runners finish heading the way they started. If you come to the start line in top form, you can definitely beat your personal bests on this course!
  • Is this a USATF Certified Course?
    • Yes, USATF Certified Course ID #OH18017MW
  • Is there a course map?
    • Yes, please click "Course Map" under the race info tab to view an up to date course map.
  • Is there water on the course?
    • Yes! As the course passes Helke Park at 1.8 miles there will be a water station. Make sure to thank the volunteers for spending their Saturday morning helping with the event!
  • Are there time limits?
    • Yes, due to the need to reopen the roads as required by our permit there is a one hour and fifteen minute cutoff.
  • Are strollers allowed?
    • Yes, we simply ask you stay to the outside and at the start please stage further back. Please be respectful of others on the course.
  • Are dogs allowed?
    • No, our events are insured through the Road Runners Club of America and our insurance policy specifically does not cover dogs and does not allow for them at our events.
  • Is there medical support?
    • Yes, we have an AED onsite and Dayton Children's Hospital always has a staff member onsite to support the event. Additionally ARP staff is AED/CPR certified.
  • Is this event chip timed?
    • The Crossroads 5K has partnered with Speedy Feet, the leading event timer in southwest Ohio to provide chip timing. Runners will have a disposable timing chip on the backside of their bib and will not have to do anything in order to get 100% accurate results!
  • Are there awards?
    • Yes, we custom made in the USA awards for the top 3 overall male and female, top 3 overall male and female masters runners, and top 3 in standard 10 year age groups.
  • Are there cash prizes?
    • Yes, they are as follows;
    • Top Three Overall Male & Female (Cash prizes)
      • 1st - $125
      • 2nd - $100
      • 3rd - $75
    •  Top Three Master's Male and Female will receive New Balance Dayton Gift Cards
      • 1st - $75
      • 2nd - $50
      • 3rd - $25

  • Is there a bonus for breaking the course record?
    • Yes, anyone who breaks the course record will receive an extra $50.
