About Cycle of Hope

What is Cycle of Hope?

Cycle of Hope is an annual benefit ride that brings together a community of athletes, donors, volunteers, and sponsors to support for Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley’s mission to build homes, communities, and hope. Over the last 9 years, Cycle of Hope has raised over $1 million for affordable housing in the East Bay.

What does my registration cover?

Your registration fee helps cover the costs of producing the ride, ensuring that fundraising efforts go directly towards our mission. While your registration fee is not tax-deductible, donations and sponsorships for Cycle of Hope are. On top of supporting a great cause, your registration includes:

  • Great swag, including a finisher's medal and t-shirt
  • On-course support, including SAG support, aid stations stocked with water and snacks
  • A box lunch on-course along the Metric Century  route.
  • Food & drinks during the Finish Line Festival
What is the partnership between Habitat and Valley Spokesmen Bicycle Club?

VSBC and Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley are combining cycling expertise with the mission of a trusted affordable housing organization. Together, we'll help grow the cycling community, welcome new riders, and create more opportunities for VSBC members to get involved and give back.

After 50 years of championing women in cycling at the Cinderella Ride, VSBC is partnering with Habitat to coordinate Cycle of Hope starting in 2027.  Both organizations look forward to a collaboration that preserves the camaraderie, spirit, and beautiful routes of the Cinderella ride while strengthening the cycling communities' participation in advancing Habitat's mission.

About Habitat for Humanity

Habitat for Humanity is a movement to build a world where everyone has a decent place to live. Cycle of Hope takes “movement” literally – by getting moving for a mission.

By riding Cycle of Hope, you're raising critical funds that build, repair, and advance equity in affordable housing. Since 2018, riders have raised $2 million for Habitat for Humanity's work!

Join Cycle of Hope and you'll do so much more to help Habitat's work. Like raise the walls where families will make memories. Repair the roofs that keep homeowners safe. Provide the education that gets people to their goals. Let's build a stronger future for our Bay Area communities.

Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that helps families build and improve places to call home. We believe affordable housing plays a critical role in strong and stable communities. Habitat for Humanity East Bay/Silicon Valley has worked in communities throughout Alameda, Contra Costa, and Santa Clara Counties for nearly 40 years. Below are our main program areas.

Homeownership
Habitat brings homeownership within reach of families with limited incomes, selling homes through stable, affordable mortgages. We promote equity by increasing access to homeownership – along with the positive health, financial, and educational outcomes that are associated with homeownership – among families pushed to the margins of the housing market.

Home Preservation
Habitat supports homeowners with repairs and improvements that are out of their financial means. It’s an important tool in our toolbox, one that mitigates conditions that threaten homeowners’ health and safety, prevents displacement, beautifies communities, and holds on to the affordable housing we have.

Housing and Financial Counseling
As a HUD-approved agency, Habitat empowers people with the skills and guidance to better their financial wellness and work toward their goals. Whether it’s purchasing their first home or balancing a household budget, our clients take charge of their financial lives and face the future with confidence.
