Description
The National Council of Negro Women (NCNW) is an “organization of organizations” that enlightens, inspires and connects more than 2,000,000 women. Its mission is to lead, advocate for, and empower women of African descent, their families and communities. The NCNW was founded by educator and strategist, Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune. Dr. Bethune single handedly created one of the most powerful Women's organizations in the world. It is unknown how many miles she traveled on behalf of Negro Women, but we do know that she was dedicated to their safety and well-being. In April, let's see how many miles we can accomplish by walking and/or running in the spirit of Dr. Mary McLeod Bethune for the safety of women from sexual violence.
The NCNW has joined forces with the United Nations (UN) and African Renaissance Diaspora Network (ARDN) Red Card Pledge. The Red Card Pledge
is the commitment of the United Nations and ARDN to achieving its United Nations Sustainable Development Goal #5 – Achieve Gender Equality and Empower All Women and Girls.
