The Eighth Annual DC Front Runners Pride Run 5K has been postponed to Saturday, October 10, 2020, at 10:00am.
Note on COVID-19 (dated 4/2/2020): The ongoing COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated the DC Front Runners Pride Run Foundation (Foundation) move our annual Pride Run 5K to Saturday October 10, 2020. The race will still take place at the Historical Congressional Cemetery with a start time of 10:00 a.m. The post-race festival will run from 11:00 a.m. through 12:30 p.m. The Foundation did not make this decision easily. Following guidance from CDC, the Office of the Mayor, and our partners, and with our number one priority being public safety, the move to a later date was inevitable. If you have already registered, you will be receiving an email message with additional information.
DC Front Runners is a running, walking, and social club for LGBTQ people and their friends in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. We are open to all people regardless of race, pace, age, gender, sexual orientation, or athletic ability. Our group is very diverse with respect to speed, distance, and intensity, and we encourage and support all who participate. While membership is encouraged, you do not have to join to give us a try!
Our club has over 400 active members. In addition to our group runs and walks, we sponsor many social events so you can make new friends and join other members for dinner, happy hour, or other activities.
If so, register at members.dcfrontrunners.org.
Whether you are running, walking or just cheering others on, consider fundraising for our charity partners? You can make a donation or organize a group of runners and walkers as a fundraising charity squad right here!
Our designated beneficiary charities received a record amount from the 2019 Pride Run, which we aim to exceed in 2020!
This year's race proceeds benefit local LGBTQ and disenfranchised youth organizations, including the Team DC Student-Athlete Scholarship, Wanda Alston Foundation, Casa Ruby, Teens Run DC, Blade Foundation, and Ainsley's Angels of America.
Here is another way you can help with the local charities. Thanks to our generous sponsors, we are auctioning off some pretty awesome items. We hope to raise $2,000 for the charities by August 31. Check them out and put in a bid. Items include:
