Now in its 6th year, the Fall in Love 10K and 5K Run & Walk to benefit Special Love is a great way to support Mid-Atlantic children with cancer and their families, all while enjoying a scenic run (or walk) along the C&O Canal Towpath.
Special Love sponsors retreats, like the week-long Camp Fantastic, that give young cancer patients and their families the chance to get out of the hospital to enjoy traditional camp activities and a community of support made up of people who understand what they’re going through. Special Love also provides financial assistance in the form of emergency relief and college scholarships.
Want to be a hero? Earn your cape!* Join our FIL5K10K Fundraising Team by visiting our CrowdRise page and clicking on the gray button at the lower right ("Fundraise for this campaign"). Your pledges from friends and family will help us serve even more kids with cancer and their families.
* Yes, there will be capes! Race participants who fundraise through CrowdRise will automatically receive a cape to wear during the race! Participants can also choose to add a cape to their registration for an additional $20. (CrowdRise fundraisers DO NOT need to add a cape at registration!)
Thank you for your support!
PARTICIPANTS ARE WELCOME TO PICK UP PACKETS FOR FRIENDS AND FAMILY AT OUR EVENTS! Individuals who wish to pick up packets for an entire team or larger group -- please contact our race director ahead of time so that we can gather your materials in advance and cut down on your wait time.

Both the 5k and 10k will be out-and-back on the C&O Canal Towpath, with the start and finish lines near the Whitehurst Freeway. Volunteers will be stationed on the course to direct participants at the appropriate turnaround points.

10:15am – 5k Race Start!
