Description

The Democracy Awareness Project honors the legendary runner who rallied the citizens of Athens to man the walls until the return of their victorious army. Facing the imminent threat of a Persian naval invasion, this runner's heroic message inspired average citizens to unite and defend the cradle of democracy in 490 BC.

Democracy has had a good run of over 2,500 years and America’s almost 250 years of a democratic experiment must continue.

Help fight the cancers of voter apathy and misinformation with the Democracy Awareness Project. Register for the race and get a Stars and Stripes Forever T-shirt and American Infinity stickers and endless ribbons. Wear them to show your support for democratic ideals!

If you can’t to run for office, run in our virtual marathon and most importantly exercise your right to vote!

Watch for our September 12th marathon in Sonoma County celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Running Fence, 250th year of the Declaration of Independence, and 2,514 years of Pheidipiddes original marathon run.
