History of Maya
Founded in 1997 by David Domenici and James Forman, Jr., as a program for at-promise teens. The Maya Angelou Schools See Forever Foundation now supports approximately 600 students through a holistic program that focuses on accelerated learning opportunities for court-involved students, students who are performing significantly below grade level, students with special needs, students from low-income neighborhoods, and disconnected young people across DC.
