RACE AGE
All participants shall compete based on their age on December 31, 2026. USA Triathlon dictates that an athlete's age for all sanctioned races is determined by their age on December 31 of the competition year. Athletes "age up" at the beginning of the year, not on their actual birthday. For example, if you turn 40 anytime in 2026, you race in the 40-44 category for the entire year. This applies to adult and youth athletes.
