RACE INFORMATION

Join us for Dogfish Dash on Sunday, September 29!  Registration is now open for this off-centered road race that starts and ends at Dogfish Head‘s Milton Brewery. The approximate distance for the 2024 Dogfish Dash is 3.81 miles (please note, final race route is subject to change, so distance could vary slightly), proceeds benefitting the SUSSEX COUNTY LAND TRUST.  We are working with our longtime partner Seashore Striders for help in executing the event and accurate timing.

 

Registered Dashers will receive some sweet runner goodies to include a cool runner t-shirt and "NEW" COOL OFF-CENTERED SOCKS; plus enjoy a post-run party with live music and activities/information from this years beneficiary. Dashers will receive two beverage tickets (21+ only) and some tasty post-run grub.    

 

We will continue the tradition of the "Recycled Costume Contest", so if you create an outfit crafted from recycled stuff, you'll be entered to win some sweet prizes. This year will feature some incredible prizes for the group with the best recycled costumes along with best dressed individual!

 

Who is ready to sprint in the NEW Dogfish Dash 50 yd Dash...Sprint off the starting line in a new post-race activity with a DogFish beer in one hand...no spilling your beer!...Who is the fastest?   Who has the most beer left in the cup?   We will have some cool prizes for the winners.

 

For those that would like to make a whole weekend out of it, you can book our exclusive Dogfish Dash INN Package. 

 

More details will be communicated via Dasher emails, but we will have two packets pick-ups prior to race day.  There will be NO Race Day packet pick upMore details to come, but here are the dates for planning. 

  • Wed. Sept. 25th in Rehoboth at Dogfish Head Brewings & Eats from 4 pm-8 pm
  • Sat. Sept. 28th in Milton at Dogfish Head Craft Brewery from 11 pm-4 pm

 

Our friends from Sneakers4Good will be onsite collecting used running shoes. The positive impact of sneaker recycling goes further than your community.   • 9:00 am
  • We would like all participants to arrive between 6:30 am - 8:30 am
  • Please allow extra time to get in and parked

 

PARKING

  • Please follow parking signs off Cave Neck Road and Chestnut St as you make your way into the Brewery Parking Lot
  • Parking will also be at the Milton Elementary School, Chestnut Ave, Union St, Federal St, Downtown Public Park.
    • Please be mindful of parking in front of residents homes; do not block driveways

RACE COURSE

  • The 17th Dash will leave the backdoor of the brewery and travel along the river towards town for the opening mile.   The second mile is a rollercoaster of the Milton hills which will take you to the fun 2m water stop.   The third mile is along a country road and onto the beautiful multi-use trail though the Southside of Milton.   The final segment takes to off the trail and through the Cannery neighborhood and back onto the DogFish Brewery grounds for the final turn to the finish.
     

 

RACE TIMING

  • Timing will be done by the Seashore Strider Event Production team and will be using the Chronotrack B Chip system.  
     
     

 

RACE AMENITIES

  • Finish line produced by “Seashore Strider Event Production, Inc.,” Post-Race awards ceremony within 20 minutes following the final finisher, custom printed t's(register by 8/9/24), custom awards, Post-Race Beer Dash, Special DogFish event beer, custom sock swag, costume contest, and a great post-race fun celebration.

  • Awards will be presented to the Overall Male & Female Champions
  • Overall Male & Female Masters (40+ yrs.)
  • Top three (3) Male & Female finishers in the following 13 age categories: 13 & under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+

FAQ 

Will locations be closed to the public during these events?

  • Yes! Unfortunately, the tasting room will be closed for Dogfish Dash  

Is this a 21+ and only event?

  • Nope! This event is open to all ages.  

Is the Dash pet friendly?

  • Although we love dogs, We can not allow dogs on the course as parts of the course are too narrow.

Will there be beer to purchase?

  • Yes! Our draft trailer will be there selling some goodness! 

What happens if it rains?

  • This is happening rain or shine - so come prepared!    Thunder & Lighting may make us hold for an short while.

Will brewery tours be available during the Saturday main event in Milton?

  • No we will no since the tasting room will be closed  

Where should I park?

  • Parking at the Milton Brewery is first come first serve, so we recommend to plan ahead or car pool to make the best out of your experience! There will be overflow parking at both the Milton Elementary School (512 Federal St, Milton, DE 19968) and Mariner Middle School (16391 Harbeson Rd, Milton, DE 19968,).   You may also find parking along Chestnut St, Union St or at the public park downtown.
