Description
Thank you for registering for Fusion For A Cause. We are excited to have you join our upcoming fitness challenge.
Fusion For A Cause was created in 2014 as a way for members of Fusion Fitness Center to help others as they helped themselves. Owner Nic DeCaire had the idea to combine a fitness challenge with fundraising for local non-profits. It was his way of creating a ripple in the community to keep the positive energy flowing to others in need.
The first challenge benefited Preston’s March for Energy, a Delaware-based organization that provides specially made adaptive bicycles to children with special needs. They've given away more than 100 bikes to children across the United States. Fusion For A Cause participants raised $1,800 during the inaugural challenge, enough to purchase an adaptive bicycle for a young boy named Hayden.
In three years, Fusion For A Cause has raised more than $15,000 and helped more than 10 local non-profits.
This summer challenge, we are very happy to announce that Fusion for a Cause will be benefiting Fashion Abled.
We look forward to changing lives with you.

How Fusion for a Cause works
If you have never participated before, WELCOME.
Here is how the challenge works:
Each participant will be assigned to a team. Your goal during the challenge will be to accumulate as many points for your team as possible. You will do this through your daily workouts, daily steps, weight loss, etc.
Here is how you earn points:
1.Workouts: You'll earn 1 point for every workout you perform. Remember: workouts must be at least 20 minutes and there's a max of 1 point per day. Mark your daily point on the CHALLENGE BOARD located inside Fusion. You are on the honor system.
2. Challenges: Each week, there will be a team challenge to complete. It will be emailed to all participants in advance with details. Challenges are completed as a team. 10 points for weekly group challenge.
3. Social Media: Each weekend, we'll mail out an opportunity for a bonus point. If you choose to take part, your point must be posted to the Fusion Fitness Center FB Page. 3 points per bonus.
4. Steps: You will earn 1 point for reaching a minimum of 8,000 steps per day.
5. Weight Loss: You will earn 2 points for every pound that you lose during the challenge. (You can earn a max of 10 points per person for weight loss.)
6. MEPs: If you have a MYZone Belt you can earn 1 point for every 200 MEPs.
Don't have a belt? Want to get one? Talk to any Fusion team member for more details.
Note:* You can use your scale at home or at Fusion. If you use your scale at home you are on the honor system.
What is Fashion Abled?
The mission of FashionAbled is to create clothing for individuals with disabilities that is functional, fun, and fashion-able! Based in the College of Health Sciences at the University of Delaware, the FashionAbled project began as a research study by fashion designer and biomechanics PhD student Martha Hall.
From working with children with disabilities, such as Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy and Autism, Martha was inspired to help these kids be more independent and express themselves through clothing, just like any typical kid.
Martha hopes to grow FashionAbled into an inclusive clothing line and program empowering people of all ages with special needs.
Meet Natalie - She is 7 years old with Down Syndrome.
Meet Piper - She 9 years old and also has Down Syndrome.
Meet Priscilla - She 15 years old and she has Cerebral Palsy
