Friends of Fusion Foundation is raising money for a local nonprofit program called Josie's Grace.
Josie's Grace is 4 week program*, attended 3 hours a week on Wednesday or Thursday, allowing new Mama's/Birthing Parents to navigate stress and fatigue while off-setting isolation in the fourth trimester. Isolation and lack of self-care put mothers and birthing people at risk for developing a mood or anxiety disorder. Early interventions can interrupt the cycle allowing for a smoother transition into motherhood. Caring for the mother during this vulnerable time will support optimal attachment within the new dyad, thus also generating positive impacts on the infants' health.
This psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) developed curriculum focuses on prevention and early support with social and therapeutic interventions centered around holistic and behavioral health nursing. Our goal is for mamas to leave feeling physically and emotionally nourished, so they experience optimized maternal mental health and function.
