Frank Raines, a man known for performing as "The Dewey Elvis", a well known entertainer along the Delaware beach resorts, a member of the DelMarVa Swim Association (DSA) Board of Directors from the Sea Colony Sharks, AND the Swim Referee at DSA Championships for the past several years (and the guy who looks like Elvis that sings "The National Anthem" at Champs!), in cooperation with the DSA, has teamed up with Schell Brothers to present a Virtual 10K Bike/5K Run/1K Swim Challenge to raise money for the DSA Scholarship Fund. All monies raised go directly to the scholarship fund! With the 2020 DSA Summer Swim Season being cancelled, there will be no championships, severely limiting the scholarships available to be awarded to this season's swimmers who would normally apply. This year's seniors still need money for college. With money raised by this Challenge, it will allow the DSA to award more scholarships than we might have hoped for this year!
How can you participate? Choose one these options:
- Walk/Run a 5K
- Bike a 10K
- Swim a 1K
- Complete the Triathlon
- Complete one of the Biathlon Options
Here's how it works:
- Pick your distance and register any time between June 24, 2020 until July 31, 2020.
- Join a team or create a new one! There will be prizes for largest team, most spirited team and team with highest donations raised for DSA Scholarship Fund.
- Walk/Run/Swim your chosen distance any time between June 24, 2020 until July 31, 2020.
- For the individual event participants, click HERE to enter your finish time.
- For the Triathlon and Biathlon participants, click HERE to enter your progress as you accumulate your miles.
- Take pictures and short videos to commemorate your walk/run/swim, post them on your Facebook page and use the hashtag # See more below to find out how you can win prizes!
