Description
Join us for our Family Promise 5K & Family Fun Day on Saturday, October 3, 2026, at Bellevue State Park! This family-friendly event brings our community together to raise awareness and support for families experiencing homelessness.
The day will feature a 5K run and walk, followed by a Family Fun Day filled with food trucks, games, crafts, activities, and more. Whether you're a serious runner, a casual walker, or simply looking for a fun day with your family, there is something for everyone!
Form a Team & Make an Even Bigger Impact!
Bring together your coworkers, friends, family, faith community, or favorite group and create a team of at least 5 participants for the 5K. Not only will you have a great time together, but you'll be helping local families experiencing homelessness.
Every team five that raises $500 will have its $500 in fundraising MATCHED!
Raise $500 → Receive a $500 match → $1,000 to help local families!
Proceeds will support Family Promise's new expanded shelter and commercial kitchen, helping us provide safe shelter, nutritious meals, and comprehensive support services to more families in our community. Our new shelter has doubled our capacity from 8 to 16 families, allowing us to reach even more families on their journey toward stable housing.
Come run, walk, play, eat, and make a difference! Every step helps Family Promise move closer to ending family homelessness in our community.
About Family Promise
Family Promise of Northern New Castle County is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness for families with children. Since our founding, we have worked alongside volunteers, congregations, community organizations, and generous donors to provide families with not only a safe place to stay, but also the support and resources needed to achieve lasting independence.
Our comprehensive approach addresses both immediate housing crises and the underlying barriers that contribute to homelessness. Through emergency shelter, homelessness prevention, rapid rehousing, diversion services, career support, and personalized case management, we empower families to build stable, self-sufficient futures.
At the heart of our work is the belief that every family deserves a safe home and the opportunity to thrive. We understand that homelessness can happen to anyone due to unexpected job loss, medical emergencies, domestic violence, rising housing costs, or other life challenges. By providing compassionate support, individualized services, and strong community partnerships, we help families overcome these obstacles and regain stability.
Our success is made possible through the dedication of hundreds of volunteers, local businesses, faith communities, foundations, and public partners who share our commitment to ensuring that every child has a safe place to sleep and every family has the opportunity to build a brighter future.
