Description

Saint Edmond's Academy Color Dash is an untimed colorful event. It is all about colors and having fun together. People are invited to run a track with several color stations. At these color stations, all passing color runners have color powder thrown at them from head to toe. Each Color station has its own specific color. At the Color station, volunteers are present to toss the bulk color powder on the passing color runners.

When reaching the finish, each runner should have passed all color stations. Everyone will be nicely covered with color powder. Once the race is over, the fun continues at the finish line with music, dancing, photo ops, lunch, and more color throws.

Event FAQs

1. Who can participate?

All kids at any age can participate in the Color Run. In fact, we would like students to encourage their friends, moms, dads, aunts, uncles and grammas and grandpas to participate. Bring the little ones and push them in a stroller. This is a fun event that entire families can participate in…no matter what age. And you don’t have to run…you can walk, dance, skip, stroll, jog, trot or turn cartwheels!

2. Are the color powders safe?

All of the color powders are made of food-grade, biodegradable products with FDA-approved dyes. All participants are encouraged to wear sunglasses to reduce the chance of getting powder in their eyes. If it does, the powder is non-toxic and can be rinsed out of your eyes with water. All participants are required to wear a mask or bandana to cover their nose and mouth while passing through the color stations to minimize inhaling the powder. If you do not want to be sprayed with color, you are welcome to bypass any color station.

3. Will the color wash out of my hair and off of my skin?

Yes! The easiest way to remove the color is to shake, jump, or vacuum it off while it is dry. There will be a blower station at the end of the event to remove as much powder as possible before you get into your car. Once you get home, soap and water will get rid of the rest of the color.

4. Will the color powder stain/stay on my shirt?

If you want the color to stay as a cool souvenir, the color can be made permanent by soaking the shirt in vinegar, allowing it to air dry, then ironing it BEFORE putting it into a washing machine. IF you want to remove all of the colors, rinse and soak the shirt in a sink/bucket of cold water before placing it in a washing machine.

5. Can I bring my own color?

NO. All colors used at this event must be purchased from Saint Edmond's Academy on this site or at the event.  DO not bring color powder to this event.

6. Is food included?

No, but we will have food trucks at the event.
