How much to register kids?
Kids 12 and under are free.

What is a TrailRaiser?
TrailRaisers are individuals or teams who choose to fundraise for Prickly Pear Land Trust. During or after registration, you can become a TrailRaiser, set a goal, set up a page, and ask friends, family, or coworkers to donate on your behalf.

Are there awards?
We offer overall awards to the top three finishers in the race events: 50K, 25K, 12K Race, 5K Race. We don’t offer awards in the walk events or age division awards.

Can I register for the 12K Walk and place in the 12K Race?
No. Participants can only place in the event for which they registered.

Do I need a dog to participate in the 5K Dog Walk?
Nope. Walkers without dogs are welcome to join the fun! You can also choose to walk the 5K Race.

Can I change events?
Yes. Participants can change events under Manage Registration. If the entry fee for the new race is higher than the original race, the participant will have to pay the difference. There are no refunds when participants change to a less expensive race. Check out this tutorial

I can’t attend the race. Can I transfer my registration to another participant?
Yes! Participants can transfer or gift their registration to another participant under Manage Registration. Check out this tutorial. There is no fee to transfer. Transfers are allowed until midnight on Thursday, May 8.

I can’t attend the race. Can I have a refund or deferral?
Sorry! Because the Don't Fence Me In Trail Run is a fundraiser, we do not offer refunds or deferrals. Your entry fee supports the work of Prickly Pear Land Trust. Thank you!

Why is the finish time on my watch different from my official time?
Your official finish time is recorded by the timing system from when you cross the starting line to when you cross the finish line. This time determines overall awards and age group winners.

Is there trail etiquette?
On the trail, please follow our trail tips. Off the trail, please use sidewalks when available, listen to course guards, and yield to vehicles.

Can I be disqualified from the race?
Yes, any participant who conducts themselves in an unsportsmanlike manner or who exhibits offensive behavior or language to event officials, staff, volunteers, or participants may be disqualified.

I saw a photographer on the course. Where can I find my photo?
A professional photographer shoots the event, but we aren’t able to capture photos of every participant. The photo gallery will be available for viewing and download on the race website about a week after the event. Please understand that photographs, personal data provided during registration and post-event reporting, video or audio recordings, or any other record of this event may be used by PPLT for marketing, communications, and fundraising.

Who’s in charge around here?
The race is managed by a volunteer race committee and the staff of Prickly Pear Land Trust. All participants must follow the instructions of event officials, including the race committee,  PPLT staff, and volunteers. These individuals will wear identifying vests or t-shirts on race day.
