Registration & General Race Information

• When is Dave's Turkey Chase?

  • Dave's Turkey Chase is held annually on Thanksgiving Day morning. Please check the Race Info page for this year's exact date and start times.

• What are the different race options?

  • We offer a 5K Run/Walk, a 1-Mile Walk, and free Kids' Turkey Chase runs (typically 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile). There's also a virtual option for those who can't make it in person!

• Where does the race start and finish?

  • The race traditionally starts and finishes in Downtown Toledo. Specific start/finish line details and directions can be found on our Race Info page.

• How do I register?

  • You can register online through our official registration platform. Look for the "Register Now" button on our homepage.

• Is there a minimum age to participate?

  • Yes, for the 5K, participants must typically be at least 6 years old on race day. The Kids' Turkey Chase is for younger participants (ages usually 1-12).

• What's included with my registration?

  • Most registrations include a commemorative long-sleeve shirt and a finisher's medal (for 5K/1 Mile). Kids' Turkey Chase participants also receive a special bib. Check the registration details for specific swag items for each race category.

• Do you offer group discounts?

  • Yes! We often have family package pricing or discounts for groups of four or more participants registering for the 5K. Details will be on the registration page.

• Can I transfer my registration or get a refund?

  • Please review our Cancellation Policy for details on transfers, deferrals, and our no-refund policy.

Packet Pickup

• When and where is packet pickup?

  • Packet pickup typically occurs at Dave's Running Shops in Sylvania and Perrysburg on the days leading up to the race. There may also be limited race day packet pickup. Specific dates, times, and locations will be posted on the Packet Pickup page closer to the event.

• What do I need to bring to packet pickup?

  • Please bring your race confirmation email (with QR code if applicable) and a photo ID. If picking up for someone else, you may need a copy of their photo ID and signed waiver (check our full policy).

Race Day Logistics

• Where should I park on race day?

  • Downtown Toledo offers several parking options, including garages and street parking. We recommend reviewing the Race Info page for specific parking recommendations and any associated fees. Arrive early to allow ample time!

• Are strollers allowed?

  • Yes, strollers are generally welcome, especially in the 1-Mile Walk. For the 5K, we ask that those with strollers start towards the back of the pack for safety.

• Can I run with my dog?

  • Typically, yes, well-behaved dogs on non-retractable leashes are allowed. Please be considerate of other participants and clean up after your pet.

• Will there be water stations on the course?

  • Yes, we will have water stations strategically placed along the 5K course.

• Will there be restrooms available?

  • Yes, there will be designated restroom facilities available near the start/finish area.

Results & Awards

• How will I get my race results?

  • Race results are typically posted online shortly after the event. A link to the Results page will be available on our website.

• What are the awards?

  • Awards are usually given to the overall male and female winners, overall masters male and female, and top finishers in various age groups. Our coveted age group awards are often delicious pies from Schmucker's! See the Race Info page for full award categories.

• How does Dave's Turkey Chase benefit Cherry Street Mission Ministries?
  • A portion of every registration fee directly supports Cherry Street Mission Ministries. Additionally, we encourage participants to bring non-perishable food items, travel-sized hygiene products, and new men's and women's undergarments to donate on race day.
