Dave's Turkey Chase is held annually on Thanksgiving Day morning. This year's race date is Thursday November 27, 2025.
You can register online through our official registration platform. Look for the "Register Now" button on our homepage.
A portion of every registration fee directly supports Cherry Street Mission Ministries. Additionally, we encourage participants to bring non-perishable food items, travel-sized hygiene products, and new men's and women's undergarments to donate on race day or at one of the early packet pick ups.
The Kids' Turkey Chase is at 8:30 am
The 5k Run/Walk begins at 9:00 am
The 1 Mile Walk begins at 9:05 am
We offer a 5K Run/Walk, a 1-Mile Walk, and free Kids' Turkey Chase runs (typically 1/4 mile and 1/2 mile). There's also a virtual option for those who can't make it in person!
Yes, for the 5K, participants must be at least 6 years old on race day. The Kids' Turkey Chase is for younger participants (ages 1-12).
Yes! We often have family package pricing or discounts for groups of four or more participants registering for the 5K. Details will be on the registration page.
Registrations include a commemorative long-sleeve shirt and a finisher's mug (for 5K/1 Mile). Kids' Turkey Chase participants also receive a special bib and Finisher Ribbon but no shirt or mug.
- All registrations are non-refundable. We are unable to offer refunds for any reason, including but not limited to, injury, illness, travel complications, or schedule conflicts. This policy helps us manage event costs and logistics effectively, as many expenses are incurred well in advance of race day.
- No Transfers or Deferrals: Registrations are non-transferable to another participant and cannot be deferred to a future Dave's Turkey Chase event or any other Run Toledo event.
- Race Changes/Cancellation: While highly unlikely, Run Toledo reserves the right to modify, postpone, or cancel Dave's Turkey Chase due to unforeseen circumstances, including but not limited to, extreme weather conditions, natural disasters, or other emergencies that may compromise the safety of participants and volunteers.
- In the event of a race modification or postponement, participants will be notified via email and through our official social media channels.
- If the event is canceled outright, Run Toledo will assess the situation and communicate any potential partial refunds or alternative arrangements (e.g., virtual race options) to registered participants. However, a full refund is not guaranteed in the event of cancellation, as significant operational costs will have already been incurred.
All registration is done online and will be open through the start of the race. If you arrive on race day and are not registered, there will be QR Codes for you to scan to get registered.

Please bring your race confirmation email (with QR code if applicable) and a photo ID. If picking up for someone else, you need a copy of their photo ID or QR Code.
As early as you need to.
Race Day Packet Pick Up begins at 7:00 am. If you need to get your packet on race morning we advise arriving downtown by 8:00 am.
If you already have your race bib we still advise arriving downtown by 8:00 am.
The events will begin promptly on time and will not be delayed.
Both the Start and Finish Lines are located at Summit and Jefferson near Promenade Park in Downtown Toledo.
For getting to and from the Turkey Chase 5k start/finish line, the most convenient parking is at Port Lawrence Garage.
Parking is available at any other downtown lot, meter or legal parking spot. All parking is at your own risk.
Port Lawrence Garage:
$5 Discounted Event Parking (Ample parking is available. Use the entrance off of N St Clair and pay as you enter. The gates will be open after the race starts for fast and easy exit.)
Glass City Center:
Event Parking available, enter off of Monroe St. Pricing is currently unknown as this is a privately owned parking structure.
Yes. Please send whoever is picking up your packet your QR Code or a picture of your photo ID.
Yes, the course closes 90 minutes after the start of the 5K. Roads will reopen at 10:30am
Yes, restrooms will be available inside the Glass City Center. There will also be porta-potties near the Start/Finish Lines.
Yes, there are two water stops on the 5k Course.
There are no water stops on the 1 Mile Course.
Yes, well-behaved dogs on a 6 foot non-retractable leashes are allowed. Please be considerate of other participants and clean up after your pet.
Yes, strollers are generally welcome, especially in the 1-Mile Walk. For the 5K, we ask that those with strollers start towards the back of the pack for safety.
There will be gear check available inside The Glass City Center in Exhibit Hall C.
Yes. Please be aware of your surroundings and able to hear instruction from race officials and police officers along the course.
Race results are typically posted online shortly after the event. A link to the Results page will be available on our website.
You can also scan the QR Code on your race bib to get your results and Finisher Certificate.
Awards are given to the overall male and female winners, overall masters male and female, and top finishers in various age groups. Our coveted age group awards are delicious pies from Schmucker's! See the Race Info page for full award categories.
