Welcome to my fundraising page!
This isn’t just another 5K for me.
 Tell your story here.  Why are you participating? Do you have an ostomy? Love someone who does?  Work in healthcare? Want to reduce stigma?  Be real. Be honest. People give to people, not events.  
 This year, I’m honoring Ostomy Awareness Day on Saturday, October 3rd by participating in the Run for Resilience Ostomy 5K.
I’ll be walking/running on October 5th in Dexter, Michigan — but this is about so much more than crossing a finish line.
It’s about:
<ul><li>Empowering people who have had ostomy or continent diversion surgery</li><li>Supporting those preparing for life-saving surgery</li><li>Reducing stigma and increasing understanding</li><li>Reminding people they are not alone</li></ul>
 The funds raised support United Ostomy Associations of America, Inc. (UOAA) — a national 501(c)(3) nonprofit serving the estimated 1&#43; million Americans living with an ostomy or continent diversion surgery.
UOAA provides:
Free education and patient guides to patients, caregivers, family members and medical professionals 275&#43; affiliated support groups nationwide - both Virtual and In-person Advocacy efforts to protect ostomate rights and access to medical supplies These surgeries save lives. But support, community, and education are what help people truly live again.
My Goal I’ve set a personal fundraising goal of $______.
