Asheton Lakes 5k: Run for Ava Lawrence

A 5k run/walk that will take you through the gently rolling hills of Asheton Lakes neighborhood.  This is the inaugural Asheton Lakes 5k, which we hope to keep going every year.  Each year proceeds from the event will be donated to charity or a worthy cause.  This year we would like to donate all funds raised to support residents of our neighborhood, the Lawrence family, and their daughter Ava who has been battling leukemia.  

The Race will begin and end at the Asheton Lakes pool.  The course will be clearly marked and a map of the course can be downloaded below.  Participants are welcome to come out and attempt a new PR for 5k, jog with family or friends, or simply take a leisurely stroll through the neighborhood.  The event will be timed and prizes will be awarded to the top 3 male and female finishers and to age group winners: male and female U10, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, and 60+.  Awards will be handed out approximately 1 hour after the start of the race.  Awards will not be mailed and must be picked up at the race venue. 

Online registration will close on Thursday, March 29.  Day of the race registration will be held from 6:30-7:30 AM, at a fee of $30.  The race will start at 8:00 AM.  Registration packets can be picked up from 4 - 7 PM on Friday, March 30 at the Asheton Lakes pool, or from 6:30-7:30 AM on the day of the race.  All runners must wear the bibs on the front of their bodies.   Strollers and dogs are welcomed. 

The event will take place, rain or shine.  In the event of severe weather, the race director will update participants as to whether or not the start of the race will be delayed.  If the severe weather persists, the race will be cancelled and, unfortunately, your registration will not be refunded.   

Only participants registered before March 27 will be guaranteed a race t-shirt during race packet pick up.  Those registering late will still receive a race t-shirt, but it will have to be ordered and delivered after the day of the race.

Registration Fee: $25 before March 29, 2018.  $30 for day of registration - payment by cash or check only.  

Packet Pick up: Friday, March 30 from 4:00-7:00 PM at Asheton Lakes Pool, or from 6:30-7:30 AM Saturday, March 31
