The Helena Holiday 5K is a fundraiser for the Helena High School Track & Field and Cross Country program. Since the school's opening in 2014, Helena's track & field athletes have earned 23 state medalist honors (podium finishers) and 9 State Championships. An extraordinary accomplishment considering the lack of facilities and equipment available to a new school.
In 2019, the City of Helena graciously funded the installation of a competition track surface inside Husky Stadium, literally paving the way for the Helena Track & Field program to consider hosting middle school and high school competitions and generating needed revenues to support the program. All proceeds and donations from the Helena Holiday 5K will go directly to purchasing the necessary equipment (hurdles, starting blocks, mats, standards, etc.) to host future meets.
The Helena Holiday 5K is an effort of the Helena Runners Club and the Helena Athletic Association.
