How can Prevent 22 be most effective in ending veteran suicide? In addition to raising awareness, Prevent 22 wants to accomplish the following:
1. Set up a crisis line of veterans answering the call of fellow veterans
2. Set up veterans around the country with access to all the mental health clinics around the country, and provide transport to those clinics when needed.
3. Create a network of veterans on call to perform house calls when we fear someone is in danger of hurting/killing themselves.
4. Educate families and communities how to deal with struggling veterans.
5. Ultimately give veterans every opportunity and outlet to help them with their PTSD and suicidal thoughts.
There’s no “timelines” because this all is based around fundraising. But we would like to achieve this as soon as possible. Your veterans need your help! Your veterans need you!
