Arkansas Hands & Voices supports all families with children who are deaf/hard of hearing, regardless of communication choice. We embrace parent/professional collaboration to enable deaf/hard of hearing children to reach their potential. We are:
...a group that meets regularly to give out information to parents of deaf and hard of hearing children.
...a place for parents to network with other parents who have similar issues, to learn what works and what doesn't, or to ask questions of someone who is a little further down the road of raising their child who is deaf or hard of hearing.
...a place where each familiy could go to find the latest information about medical, educational, and technological information that pertains to our children.
...a place that provides opportunities to hear from professionals outside of their professional settings.
...a group that could perhaps unify and amplify our individual voices to make a "unified collective voice" to advocate change or overcome difficulties faced by our children in the educational systems.
...a place where parents could go and be trained in how to advocate for their children and their needs and also how to teach their children to advocate for themselves as they grow and reach independence.
