Description
WE ARE SOLD OUT!! THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING THE ZERO-K!!
Want to run/walk, break records and enjoy St. Patrick's Day festivities? The World's Shortest St. Patrick's Day Marathon is PERFECT for you! This race is designed for athletes who do not like to get up early or break a sweat! Kick off your St. Patrick's weekend with a Zero-K while barely breaking a sweat, then enjoy music and drinks at the PopUp Pub to cool off! All proceeds from the Zero-K will benefit Tri-Lakes CASA, a local nonprofit that recruits, trains and supports volunteer advocates as they give a voice to abused and neglected children in the foster care system. Our race is a 299 foot course- 1 foot shorter than the Granddaddy of all ZERO K Runs, the Wacky Florida Keys Cow Key Channel Bridge Run that is 300 feet! The world record for the Florida Keys run is 23.1 seconds their self-timed race. This year YOU will be able to set the time to beat for the future St. Patrick's ZERO K runs.
For those who are having trouble finishing the entire 299 feet, a hydration station will be waiting for you at 150 feet! The ZERO K starts at the Historic Bridge Street, the shortest working street in America, with the end at O'Kelley's Pub for some additional Hydration!
All participants will receive a race bib, t-shirt and medal for completing the grueling course!
Please Note: THERE WILL BE NO DAY-OF-RACE REGISTRATION!
The Zero-K will consist of Three Heats:
-
1st Heat: 1st Place Contenders- Bring your fastest run and try to set a "world" record!
-
2nd Heat: Leprechaun Dash- Participants are encouraged to dress up in your St. Patrick's Day finest!
-
3rd Heat: Last Place- Slowest across while maintaining forward motion- Great for younger kids, pets and the laziest of runners!
Each registration prior to February 28th will include a Race T-Shirt and bib!
