The Bob Hicken Memorial 5K was created in honor of Robert “Bob” Hicken, a husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, builder, and a man who spent his life serving others.
In April 2025, Bob was diagnosed with esophageal cancer. After a courageous battle, he passed away peacefully at his home in Gilbert, Arizona, surrounded by his family on February 25, 2026.
In Bob’s honor, we are raising funds to support the fight against esophageal cancer through the Dignity Health Foundation. Our inaugural goal is to raise $20,000 and make a meaningful impact for patients and families facing this disease.
Whether you are participating in the Bob Hicken Memorial 5K or simply making a donation, thank you for helping us carry forward Bob’s legacy of service.
As Papa always said:
“Daylight’s burning.”
Make the time you have each day count.
