Name of Scholarship: Dr. Luis Tincopa Memorial Scholarship

Established by: This scholarship was established by The Tincopa Family and friends in memory of Dr.Luis Tincopa, a family practice and general surgery physician who dedicated over 50 years to caring for underserved patients in Southern California. As an immigrant from Peru, he took great pride in caring for the Latino population and supporting individuals with a shared commitment to helping this community. This scholarship will help increase the number of physicians from low-income and underrepresented communities who are dedicated to serving this critical patient population.

Open to: This scholarship is open to Junior and Senior year continuing students with at least one year remaining before graduation who are enrolled in the Department of Biological Sciences and who intend on applying to medical school upon graduation from CSUF. The student should also have a financial need and be from an underrepresented or underserved community.
